about sandra
Sandra was born in a small city by the sea in Southern China. Her father William Shih-Chieh Hung was an oil painting artist. She grew up with his paintings, art books and stories. Her father taught her how to draw when she was a little girl, and told her that she was very talented. She dreamed of becoming an artist and traveling painting around the world ever since.
In 1979, Sandra and her family immigrated to the USA from Hong Kong, and settled down in the San Francisco Bay Area. To full fill the earthly duties of being a wife and a mother while maintained a full time job, she put her dream away for more than 20 years.
In 2005, when her youngest daughter was in college, she started to paint again. Her mediums are oil, pastel and charcoal. She paints portraits, figures, landscapes and still-lifes. In every moment of everyday life, there is something that inspires her to paint.
